TBH: Task Bar Hero Ranger build
Updated 2026-06-02 · based on v1.00.06 · 5 min read
Quick Answer
The Ranger is a free ranged DPS. Start with flat Attack Damage, then reset on your second skill slot to pivot into Rain of Arrows and stack Crit Chance. It falls behind the Sorcerer and Hunter, but it’s a perfectly fine free starter if you put in the effort.
About the Ranger
The Ranger is the free alternative to the Hunter — a fast attack-speed ranged attacker with AoE. In practice its AoE range is limited and its skills take more effort to understand than most classes, so it needs more work for weaker results. Built well behind a tank, though, it still performs.
Skill priority
- Take flat Attack Damage for the first few levels — % attack-speed bonuses are weak while your base damage is low.
- Once you unlock a second skill slot, reset and pivot into Rain of Arrows.
- Then stack Crit Chance.
- At higher levels, favour basic-attack-based skills once they outweigh the time-based ones.
Stat priority
| Stat | Why |
|---|---|
| Attack Damage | Build it first so attack-speed % actually means something. |
| Attack Speed | No hard cap; scales once your base damage is up. |
| Crit Chance | No hard cap; the main multiplier after Rain of Arrows. |
Cube & gear
Socket attack-speed and attack materials. Match the gear to the class — attack speed is the Ranger’s signature stat — and keep her behind the tank. Full Hero-dric Cube guide →
Best teams
The Ranger is a budget back-line DPS. The Sorcerer is the stronger free pick for the best F2P team, but the Ranger slots in fine if you prefer it or are still unlocking classes. See the full tier list →
Mistakes to avoid
- Stacking attack-speed % too early, when your base damage is too low to benefit.
- Never resetting into Rain of Arrows on your second skill slot.
- Sticking with time-based skills at high level instead of basic-attack-based ones.
